Garlin, Kissel headline PSUAC Spring All-Conference Teams

The Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference released its spring season awards on Friday afternoon and players were recognized following the conclusion of each championship game on Monday afternoon.

 

On the baseball side, Zach Garlin was named Co-Pitcher of the Year following a 2024 season with an 8-1 record and a 2.91 earned run average. Wyatt Kissel was named West Division Rookie of the Year as he batted .378 with four home runs and 39 RBI's. James Sibert, Jarrett Goodyear and Blake Orndorff were each named to the First Team. Sibert led Mont Alto with nine home runs and 56 runs batted in. Goodyear batted .351 and slugged five home runs. Orndorff batted .438 with 28 RBI's.

 

On the softball side, Delaney Glazer, Destiny Hall and Rachel Alleman each were named to the First Team. Glazer went 13-2 in the circle this season for Mont Alto with 127 strikeouts in 105.2 IP and a 1.79 ERA. Hall was near the top of the team leaders in slugging percentage with .610 as she led the team in home runs with six. Alleman batted .457 and had 23 stolen bases on the year.

 

Elijah Snyder (Baseball) and Haley Dawson (Softball) were each the Mont Alto winners of the John Fritz Sportsmanship Award. The John Fritz Sportsmanship Award is given to one student-athlete on each sports team that best displays good sportsmanship and demonstrates ethical, appropriate, polite and fair behavior while participating in athletic events and as a member of their team.  The honorees exemplify the Penn State University Values of integrity, responsibility, excellence, respect, discovery and community.
