Staci Brennan took over the reigns as the director of athletics at Penn State Mont Alto in July of 2016.

After arriving at Mont Alto, Brennan made an immediate impact on the department in the areas of recruitment, compliance, and academic success. Since the fall of 2017, the athletic department has achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher every semester and at least 60 percent of the student-athletes have earned a 3.00 or higher each semester. In June of 2023, the department finished third in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) President’s Cup standings with a department cumulative GPA of 3.30; to-date this is the highest ranking in program history.

Brennan has been instrumental in many facility upgrades during her tenure repurposing space to create a training room, laundry facility, and helped to secure funding to renovate the softball dugouts and improve operations at the soccer field. In her third year Brennan implemented the department’s first recruitment and retention strategic plan which outlined immediate and long-range goals for the athletic department.

Brennan is also actively involved in many committees on campus that include the Strategic Enrollment Management Committee, Policy and Planning Committee, CARE (Campus Assessment Response Evaluation) Team, and Administrative Council. She also served as the president of the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) from 2021-2023, has been a member of the PSUAC Eligibility Committee and several sport committees. In June of 2022, Brennan was named the USCAA Athletic Director of the Year for her contributions to the national association.

Under Brennan’s direction, Mont Alto has won nine conference championships and celebrated two national titles; one individual champion (wrestling) and one team championship (women’s volleyball), both the first in campus history.

Prior to joining Penn State Mont Alto, Brennan served as the associate director of athletics, compliance coordinator, and senior woman administrator at Hood College. She moved into the administrative side of athletics full-time after serving as the head coach of the field hockey program from 2002-2012. Brennan also coached women's lacrosse from 2003-2007 and was named the conference coach of the year in both sports during the 2005 seasons; that same year her field hockey squad won the Atlantic Women's Colleges Conference Championship.

Brennan earned a bachelor’s degree in communication arts from Catawba College, a NCAA Division II school in Salisbury, North Carolina. She was a four-year letter winner on the field hockey team starting all 63 games. Brennan then went on to attend Towson University in Towson, Maryland where she earned a master’s degree in mass communications.
