Baseball recruits commit to Mont Alto

Four new baseball recruits have committed to play for Penn State Mont Alto for the 2010-2011 season. Baseball's return to campus is attracting students for the opportunity it presents -- a Penn State education and an intercollegiate athletic experience. Nathan Topper is a pitcher and first baseman from Littlestown Area High School in Littlestown, Pa. He says, "I decided to come to Mont Alto because of the location. It's a nice short drive, and a beautiful campus. Another thing is I saw they just picked baseball back up so I saw they could use players, and I want to help build a good team." Brandon Dupert, a pitcher from West Perry High School in Elliottsburg, Pa., is coming to Mont Alto because he says, "It is a nice campus and I want to be a part of the Penn State alumni."  Andrew Baker and Cody Casey, both from Big Spring High School in Big Spring, Pa., are looking forward to attending Mont Alto. Baker plays short stop and says, "I am [planning to major] in business management.  I like the campus for its small size and the new baseball program that has started.  I am interested in helping the team and being a part of Penn State.  They have a great school program and they are very prestigious."  Casey plays second base and says, "I chose Mont Alto because of the small campus and the quality of the academics.  I am [planning] to major in nursing.  I am very excited to play baseball [there] and I think that I can bring a lot to the program.  My main goal is to be in the playoffs every year I spend [there]."
Mont Alto continues discussions with several more potential recruits for the fall.
