Baseball falls to Greater Allegheny

Mont Alto Baseball had a rough double-header against reining PSUAC champions Penn State Greater Allegheny.

The first game started off very slow for the two teams, not allowing any runs in the first two innings.

Center fielder Matt Clark (Chambersburg, PA) went 2-3 at bat; he recorded two of Mont Alto's four hits. Mont Alto went 4 for 22 on offense and did not obtain any runs.  Mont Alto was unable to get their momentum and bats going.  Greater Allegheny gained force when freshman Brian Casiano from Greater Allegheny hit a homerun in the third inning.

The final score of the first game was 5-0 Greater Allegheny allowing zero runs for Mont Alto.

Unfortunately, the second game was similar to the first.   Due to the mercy rule, the game only lasted five innings, Greater Allegheny winning 10-0.

Mont Alto went 1 for 15 and struck out eight times.  Greater Allegheny had 10 runs, eight RBI's and no errors.
