The Mont Splits A Double Header To Start Conference Play...

Mont Alto baseball traveled to Penn State Schuylkill today for a PSUAC double header matchup.  The first game didn't turn out the way Mont Alto wanted as they were downed by Schuylkill, 2-1.

The Mont's Colby Dice(4) pitched a complete game, and had 5 strikeouts, but also allowed 2 solo home runs to Schuylkill's Nick Jacoby, and Chris Kreider.  Mont Alto's Lowell Singer(26) had 3 of the Mont's 6 hits, and drove in the only run of the game for his team.

Game 2 saw Singer on the mound for Mont Alto, and although he gave up a run early he allowed only that run on 2 hits through 5 innings.

Joel Clabaugh came in to relieve Singer in the 6th inning after Mont Alto scored 4 runs in the top of the inning to put themselves up, 5-1.

The score would remain the same to cap off the win in the second game of the double header.  Mont Alto will travel to Penn State Brandywine tomorrow for another conference doule header before returning home for a game on Wednesday against non-conference opponent, Garrett College.
