Mont Alto Baseball Slugfest...

Mont Alto Baseball Slugfest...

Mont Alto baseball hosted a western Maryand JUCO team, Garrett College today for a double header that proved to be full of hits.  It was a cold and windy day, but both teams bats were hot and ready for the games.

In the first game the Lakers of Garrett College changed the scoreboard first bringing in 2 runs to start the game.  Mont Alto didn't like the idea of not joining them, so in the bottom of the inning Mont Alto put up 5 runs themselves.  It would go back and forth, and the teams would only have 2 full innings where no runs would score.

Mont Alto scored 13 runs on 11 hits for the game.  The Mont's pitching was able to hold the Lakers to only 10 runs as Mont Alto would take the first game, 13-10.

Nathan Kulp(29) went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI's, while Clayton Eberhardt(25), Brady Griest(12), and Alex Cline(3) all had triples in the game.

The second game the bats kept rolling, and the top of the first was another big one for the Lakers as they put up 3 runs to start the game.  The Mont's Matt Taylor(13) hit a home run and Mont Alto never looked back as they took the second game of the double header, 9-4.

Brady Griest hit another triple in this game, along with having 2 more RBI's.

Mont Alto will host PSUAC opponent Penn State Beaver on Saturday.
