Baseball Splits Conference Double Header

Baseball Splits Conference Double Header

Mont Alto is in second place in the PSUAC going into todays double header against Penn State Beaver.  In the first game Mont Alto looked good with 3 runs coming in the 2nd, but Beaver started their come back scoring 2 in the 4th.  Mont Alto would match that however, as they drove in 2 runs of their own.

Beaver would add another run in the top of the 7th, but Mont Alto's defense, and a good outing from pitcher Colby Dice were good enough to hold Beaver to just that.  Mont Alto would win game one, 5-3.  Dice had the complete game from the mound for Mont Alto.

In the second game of the double header Beaver put up the first run in the first inning with a home run from DH, Stephen Antolic.  Mont Alto would come back in the bottom of the first after Alex Cline drove in Matt Taylor.  Mont Alto would go up 3-1 after Jeremy Younker started off the second inning with a triple.

Beaver would score 2 more runs in both the 3rd and 4th innings.  Those would be the last runs of the game for either team as Beaver would go on to win the second game, 5-3.  Mont Alto's Dylan Bryan had 6 strike outs as he pitched a complete game in the loss.

Mont Alto will travel to Penn State Fayette for a double header on Saturday.
