UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Six members of the Penn State Mont Alto baseball team were named to the 2019 PSUAC All-Conference teams on Thursday afternoon as announced by the league office. A list with all of the 2019 PSUAC All-Conference Award winners can be found here.

Seniors Jeremiah Younker (Hagerstown, Md. / Williamsport), Lowell Singer (Newville, Pa. / Big Spring), Hunter Martin (Hagerstown, Md. / North Hagerstown) and Nick Jacoby (Shippensburg, Pa. / Shippensburg) were joined on the first team by junior shortstop Colby Black (Shippensburg, Pa. / Big Spring) as well as freshman Chayse Fisher (Mercersburg, Pa. / James Buchanan).

Younker has put together his best season yet for Mont Alto as he leads the team in many of the major statistical categories and for that he was recognized as the PSUAC West Player of the Year. The four-time All-PSUAC First Team selection and three-time USCAA All-American is currently batting .444 in 41 games played, all of which were starts. In 142 at-bats the Hagerstown, Md. native has recorded a career-high 63 hits, 14 doubles, seven for triples and seven were for homeruns, while knocking in 42 RBIs and scoring 50 runs of his own. The senior also snagged a collegiate-best 12 stolen bases and saw the most time of his career on the pitching mound with great success. To date, he has tossed 55.0 innings with an earned run average of 3.11 with 51 strikeouts. In addition, Younker also pitched a complete game against Greater Allegheny in last weekend's PSUAC First Round Play-In game where he managed eight strikeouts, while limiting the opponent to six hits. He was a triple shy of completing his second cycle of the season.

Lowell Singer (Newville, Pa. / Big Spring) has been a staple atop the Mont Alto pitching rotation for the past few seasons. The senior has registered eight starts during the 2019 season with a 4-3 record. The tall righty has put together his best earned run average (4.89) since his sophomore season, while managing 39 strikeouts in 42.1 innings pitched. In three of his final four starts during the regular season, Singer allowed one or fewer earned runs. It marks two-straight years in which he was recognized as All-PSUAC.

Serving as the starting catcher for Mont Alto, Nick Jacoby (Shippensburg, Pa. / Shippensburg) has collected 37 hits, including 12 that went for extra bases. He has driven in 25 runs, while scoring 30 and hitting .262 at the plate. The two-time All-PSUAC selection at Mont Alto threw out 10 potential base stealers and saw time on the mound with six appearances where he holds a 2-1 record in 18.1 innings.

Fellow senior Hunter Martin (Hagerstown, Md. / North Hagerstown) has been patrolling the outfield for Mont Alto the past two seasons after transferring from Hagerstown Community College. He is in the midst of arguably his best collegiate season, slashing .361 with five home runs and 30 RBIs. He has also scored 47 runs this season. He is a career .944 fielder and saw time on the pitching mound also with a 5.79 ERA in 32.2 innings pitched.

Black and Fisher are also both first-time honorees after earning First Team awards for their efforts this season. For Colby Black (Shippensburg, Pa. / Big Spring), it was a breakout year at the plate for the shortstop where he set career highs in every major offensive category. Black is currently hitting .305, is fifth on the team in on-base percentage (.433) while driving in a career-high 27 runners and scoring 39 runs.

No one got off to a hotter start to their season then freshman Chayse Fisher (Mercersburg, Pa. / James Buchanan) who was named the first PSUAC Hitter of the Week on March 12. He batted .455 through the first 11 games of the season and has yet to slow down as he's currently second within the conference slashing .457. The freshman also leads the PSUAC in RBIs with 43 and is first on the team with an on base percentage of .500. Overall, he has 63 hits, including 12 doubles.

Mont Alto (25-16) moves onto the double elimination part of the PSUAC Tournament with the semifinal and championship rounds taking place at Showers Field in DuBois, Pa. on May 5-6. PSUMA will face the top seed from the East Division, Penn State Wilkes-Barre at 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 5.
