Cheerleading Squad Makes Appearance at Penn National Lions Club

MONT ALTO, Pa. - Members of the Penn State Mont Alto cheerleading squad, along with the Nittany Lion mascot, made an appearance at the recent meeting of the Penn National Lions Club. Team members Brittney Wilson (St. Thomas, Pa. / James Buchanan) and Katie Hutzell (Williamsport, Md.  / Williamsport) and the Lion performed two cheers at the start of the meeting, met members and posed for pictures.

The cheerleaders were invited to the meeting to help promote the year's theme of team spirit. The Lions Club's district governor Keldeen Stambaugh, a former high school cheerleader, was in attendance and the appearance was a special surprise for her.

"We were honored by the invitation and had a lot of fun cheering on the Lions Club as they kicked off their fall," said head coach Jennifer Deinlein. "It's always great to have a chance to share our Penn State spirit with the community."

The Mont Alto cheerleaders cheer at all home men's and women's basketball games as well as make appearances at various special events on campus and within the community.
