Penn State Mont Alto Men's and Women's basketball teams fell
short to Penn State Greater Allegheny on February 17. The
women went out strong and were only 8 points behind Greater
Allegheny at halftime (34-26). Greater Allegheny pulled away
in the second half and took home the victory with a final score of
80-49. Rachael Baublitz led Mont Alto with 17 points and 7
rebounds. Sophomore Kelly Elbin scored 8 points and grabbed 6
rebounds.
The men ended the low-scoring first half with a 27-25
lead. In the second half, Greater Allegheny came back
and took the win with a final score of 73-58. Mont
Alto was perfect from the foul line and had three players
in double digits, Shane Santell with 12 points, Michael Warrenfeltz
with 12, and Cameron Bowens with 10. Bowens and Warrenfeltz
both pulled down 7 rebounds.
Mont Alto Men's and Women's teams finished their season on their home court with the games and neither team has advanced to playoffs this year.
