Mont Alto falls to Wildcats, 76-74

Hosting Penn College for their last home game before winter break, Mont Alto kept the fans on the edge of their seats with a close game.  Mont Alto was only two points behind Penn College and it came down to who had possession in the last five seconds of the game to take home the win.

"We are playing well; we are trying to find out what combination of players who are working best together," Head Coach Ed Flory explains. "We are a young team and made mistakes at inopportune times; a couple turnovers and missing lay ups, but we are getting better each game."

Sophomore Kevin Onyeaka scored a team high for the game with 21 points and grabbing the most rebounds with a total of 9.  Cameron Bowens and Jeremiah Mitchell played a strong offensive game putting several points on the board for Mont Alto.

During both the first and second half, the game stayed close within a few points.  It was down to the last minute and Mont Alto was down but came back to tie it up with only seconds left on the clock.  After an unfortunate questionable foul called against Mont Alto, the Wildcats made both foul shots, putting them up by two.  With four seconds to find the net, Mont Alto ran out of time and fell short 76-74.

Mont Alto will travel to Penn State Schuylkill on Tuesday, December 7th for an 8:00 p.m. game, which is their last game until January 14th.
