Mont Alto Men pick up first conference win of the season

Penn State Mont Alto (3-3) Men's Basketball team recorded their first PSUAC win of the season against Penn College with a score of 72-52.

The first half was very close with a half time score of 27-26 but that all changed in the second half when Mont Alto ran away with the game.  Jeremiah Mitchell led the team with 16 points.  Sharif Welton and Keven King each added 15 to the board.  King, missing the first half of the game, made a big difference in the second half scoring all his points in the last 20 minutes. Freshman Bobby Ingram, played great defense for Mont Alto and recorded five steals while King added four steals.

Mont Alto was also very successful at the free throw line, making 85.7% of their shots.  Welton led the team with eight rebounds.

"Both teams struggled in shooting the ball.  Our defense carried us through the game," Coach Jack Schenzel comments.  "In the second half we had a huge spark from Keven and were able to take the lead and maintain control through the end of the game.  Penn College is a well-coached team and will be competitive in our league.  This was a good win at home for us," Schenzel adds.

The team looks for another conference win on Monday, December 3rd when they travel Penn State Schuylkill.
