Huge Win for Men's Basketball

Huge Win for Men's Basketball

Penn State Mont Alto Men's Basketball team was looking for their first win since coming back from the holiday break and that is just what they got last night.  Mont Alto ended Penn State York's undefeated streak in conference play.  Mont Alto won 64-61 after Cameron Bowens hit a 3-point shot with six seconds remaining in the game.

York came into the game 6-0 in the PSUAC and first in the south, the same division Mont Alto is in.  Mont Alto was ready to change that.  They came out and played a tough first 20 minutes, leading York by 12 going into half-time.

The second half was more in York's favor but Mont Alto fought hard to keep the lead.

They were led by Bowens, who had 16 points, and Jeremiah Mitchell and Sharif Welton added 14 and 13 points, respectively.  Welton also led the team with seven rebounds.

York took the lead by one with 2:39 left in the game but Mont Alto responded with a 2-point jump shot by Corey Miller.  Bowens three-point shot with six seconds left was the game winner for Mont Alto.

Penn State Mont Alto returns to action on Friday, January 11th against Penn State New Kensington at 7:00pm at home.
