Mont Alto wins a clutch conference game

Penn State Mont Alto Men's Basketball team came up with a huge win over Penn State Greater Allegheny on Saturday by a score of 88-52.  With playoffs right around the corner, Mont Alto knows that each remaining game is very important.  They came into this game ready to play and wanting the win.  They did just that.

Mont Alto dominated the first half of the game.  They went on a 19-0 run in the middle of the half and controlled the rest of the game.  Mont Alto had a 52-20 lead at halftime.

Greater Allegheny was able to stick with Mont Alto in the second half but they were not able to make up for their low scoring in the first twenty minutes.  Mont Alto finished the game hard offensively and defensively.  They were able to out-rebound Greater Allegheny 46-34.

"The team stepped up and played a solid game on the road," Head Coach Jack Schenzel commented.  "We put in better efforts defensively and it showed by the way we controlled the game from start to finish.  Colin played a very good game with a double-double in limited minutes."

Mont Alto was led by freshman, Collin Easter who had a double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.  Cameron Bowens, Jeremiah Mitchell and Gerry Earle all added 12 points.  Keven King had five steals.

Mont Alto returns home on Monday, February 4th to take on Williamson Trade School at 7:00 p.m. in the MAC Building.
