Men's Basketball records another win

Men's Basketball records another win

The Penn State Mont Alto Men's Basketball Team continues their winning streak.  They hosted Central Penn on Wednesday night for their third non-conference game of the season.  The team has kept their fans on the edge of their seats all season and this game was the same.  Mont Alto pulled through their fourth win of the season, 73-69 and continue to be undefeated.

"Tonight's win was a total team effort," Head Coach Jack Schenzel explains.  "We have been struggling defensively and we put together a solid defensive effort against a very good team.  Coach Baker does an excellent job with Central Penn, so for us to get this win builds the confidence of our team."

Devonte Merritt (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg) had a stellar performance on the court recording a double-double.  Merritt grabbed 11 rebounds, contributed 10 points and was 6 for7 from the free throw line.  Freshman Jerome Evans (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) also scored 10 points with nine rebounds.  Both Gerry Earle (Washington, DC) and Sharif Welton (Sullivan County, PA/Sullivan County) were leading scorers with 12 points each.

"The team is extremely excited about the trip to Puerto Rico and it will be a great experience for them," Coach Schenzel adds.

Mont Alto returns to their home court on Saturday December 7th at 12:00 p.m. against Hazleton.
