Men's Basketball brings home a conference win

Men's Basketball won another big game on the road.  They traveled to Lehigh Valley Wednesday night and brought home the win, 75-62.  After the win, Mont Alto is currently 8-1 in the PSUAC and 14-2 overall.

"It was a good win for us on the road," Head Coach Jack Schenzel comments.  "Lehigh Valley played a spirited game; Coach Ross had his team prepared for what we tried to do.  Overall we played a good solid team game.  We were able to execute on offense and we played one of our best defensive games."

Sharif Welton (Sullivan County, PA) was a starter this game and was the leading scorer with 16 points.  Gerry Earle (Washington, DC) had an impressive game; he was 3-3 from the three point line as well as from the free throw line.  Earle contributed 14 points towards Mont Alto's win.  Corey Meyers (Greencastle, PA) also scored in double digits with 12 points.

"I think that the lineup change by starting Sharif really paid off," Coach Schenzel adds.  "Gerry didn't have pressure to run the team like he has in the past and was able to relax and score.  Gerry did a great job coming off the bench and provided us with offensive spark.  Jerome had a few key shots and Corey was strong on offense for us."

The men will travel this weekend for two PSUAC conference games.  First they will first face Fayette Friday evening and then New Kensington on Saturday at noon.
