Men's Basketball collects another PSUAC win

The weekend started out exactly how the Mont Alto Men's Basketball team was hoping for, with another PSUAC win.  The men hosted Greater Allegheny and faced them for the first time this season.  From the start of the game, Mont Alto took a huge lead, going into halftime winning 42-22.  The second half was again dominated by Mont Alto on their home court, defeating Greater Allegheny, 87-51.

"Defensively we really came out tonight and asserted our will, this was probably our best defensive game since break," Head Coach Jack Schenzel comments.  "Bobby Ingram did a great job against their top player, Petrie Addison.  We also did very well defensively rebounding.  Offensively we spread the ball around very well tonight."

Devonte Merritt (Chambersburg, PA) recorded a double-double, scoring 14 and rebounding 10.  Sharif Welton (Sullivan County, PA) was the leading scorer for Mont Alto with 15 points.  Evan Ehrhart (York, PA) came off the bench and played a strong 17 minutes, scoring 13.  Freshman Jerome Evans (Carlisle, PA) added 10 points.

"Everyone that played tonight scored.  If we can continue this type of defensive effort and take care of the ball, we will be a tough team down the stretch," Coach Schenzel adds.
