Men's Basketball wins fifth PSUAC game in a row

The Mont Alto Men's Basketball team put triple digits on the scoreboard for the third time this season.  They have now won five PSUAC games in row on their home court in just over a weeks' time.  On Wednesday night they hosted Brandywine and defeated them 102-72.

Once again Mont Alto took the lead and kept it the whole game.  After the first half of play, Mont Alto was ahead by 12, 51-39.  The second half was the same story; they scored another 51 more points to Brandywine's 33.  Mont Alto outscored Brandywine 22-6 at the foul line and shot 47.5 percent from the field.

"We did a great job sharing the ball tonight, with 20 assists for the team," Head Coach Jack Schenzel comments.

It was an impressive night offensively for Mont Alto, not only did every player get playing time, but every player scored as well.  Jerome Evans (Carlisle, PA) had a stellar game, earning a double-double, scoring 20 and rebounding 10.  Evan Ehrhart (York, PA) had a career high and was the leading scorer for the night with 21 points, sinking three of his five three point shots.   Devonte Merritt (Chambersburg, PA) added another 19 points to the scoreboard and grabbed nine rebounds.  During Siele Johnson's (Harrisburg, PA) eight minutes of play, he scored a career high of 10 points.  Jamaal Carter (Harrisburg, PA) lead the team with six assists.

"Our starting post players, Devonte and Jerome had 39 points and 19 rebounds between the two of them.  Evan was big off the bench with 21 points as well as Siele with 10 points," Coach Schenzel comments.  "Coach Ross does a great job with Brandywine's program, so this is a good win for us.

The team has three regular season games left, two of which are PSUAC and one non-conference.  They will be on the road Saturday against Washington Adventist at 7:00 p.m.  Washington Adventist is currently ranked in the top five in the USCAA Division I rankings.
