Battle Tested.....

Mont Alto and Central Penn always seem to come down to the wire every opportunity that they get to play against one another.  Being that both schools were ranked in the top 5 in the country for most of last season, and most likely will be again this year, why should tonight's matchup be any different?

The Knights of Central Penn came out to a commanding start to the first half, even taking the lead as far up as 14 at the ten minute mark.  Mont Alto went in to the half down by 8 points, 51-43.

Mont Alto came on strong in the second half however, as senior Jeremiah Mitchell gave the Lions the spark he has given all season.  With a few key shots from both Mitchell and All-American Jerome Evans, Mont Alto clawed their way back to force overtime.

Back and forth the teams went again for another 5 minutes, but in the end found Mont Alto with the victory and a final score of 101-99 over the Knights.

Mitchell ended the evening with 31 points to lead all scorers, shooting 13 of 15 from the field, and pulling down 9 rebounds.  Evans added 24 points to help the Lions, along with Chambersburg's own Devonte Merritt's hard work on the glass as he grabbed his own 10 boards.

Central Penn's All-American Devon Dorsey tried his best to lift his team as he put up 28 points, and added 9 rebounds in the loss to the Lions.
