MONACA, Pa. – The Penn State Mont Alto men's basketball team picked up where it left off from a day ago, winning another PSUAC road matchup in dominant fashion with the Nittany Lions posting a 76-56 win over PSU Beaver on Saturday.

  • Mont Alto led from start to finish and quickly established itself in the paint and finished with a 42-22 edge in points in the paint over Beaver.

How it Happened

  • Mont Alto opened on a 7-0 run with Ryan Hege (Chambersburg, Pa. / James Buchanan) depositing a pair of layups in the team's first couple of possessions and Marcus Roper (Charles Town, W. Va. / Jefferson) hit a 3-pointer.
  • Beaver nearly tied it in the middle minutes of the first half, but Mont Alto always had a counter punch throughout and went into halftime up 41-29.
  • The home team once again cut the deficit to single digits and was down seven with 11 minutes to go. Mont Alto would rally once again and built its largest lead of the game at 20 points with just less than eight minutes remaining.
  • Mont Alto would preserve that margin for the 76-56 win.
