MONT ALTO, Pa. – The PSUAC basketball season has come to end with Mont Alto winning in a thrilling championship matchup against PSU York by a 64-61 score. On the heels of the championship performance, the final PSUAC Players of the Week and USCAA Player of the Weeks were announced and John Teague (Hagerstown, Md. / North Hagerstown) earned both accolades.

The sophomore center put together a dominant week during the PSUAC playoffs leading Penn State Mont Alto to its second conference championship under ninth-year head coach Jack Schenzel. In the championship game, Teague led all scorers with 22 points, while collecting nine rebounds. The big man finished 9-of-10 from the field and overall for the week he averaged 16 points and nearly eight rebounds a game.

For Teague, it is his first career weekly honor by either the PSUAC or USCAA. Teammate JR Powe (Frederick, Md. / Thomas Johnson) was recognized with the weekly conference honor the week of Dec. 17.

The Nittany Lions heard from the USCAA on Monday that they will be the No. 5 seed in the USCAA National Championships. Mont Alto enters the national tournament with a 24-4 overall record and will play NHTI on Sunday, March 8 in the first round matchup against the No. 4 seeded Lynx.
