Schenzel tabbed PSUAC Coach of the Year

Penn State Mont Alto men's basketball coach Jack Schenzel picked up his 4th PSUAC Coach of the Year award on Thursday evening. His Nittany Lions are 24-4 overall this season and earned the #1 seed in the upcoming USCAA National Tournament.

For the third straight season, Penn State Mont Alto men's basketball coach Jack Schenzel earned the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference Coach of the Year award. The 2021-22 team's record sits at 24-4, winning the PSUAC West Division regular season title with an 18-1 record. 

 

On Thursday, his team was named the top overall seed by the USCAA for their National Tournament on March 7-10 held in Virginia Beach, VA. Penn State Mont Alto's first game will be on March 8 against an opponent to be determined. 

 

Schenzel sports a career record at Penn State Mont Alto of 179-99 over his ten seasons at the helm. He has coached 21 All-PSUAC Selections, four Players of the Year and ten USCAA All-Americans. 

 

The 2021-2022 season marks the 6th appearance in the National Tournament under Schenzel, his 2014-15 team finished runner-up in the tournament, losing to Berkeley College 57-55 in overtime in the championship game.
