Mont Alto Golf fell short at White Deer

The Penn State Mont Alto Golf Team traveled to Penn College on Monday for their first match of the season.  It was a beautiful day on the White Deer Course, where six teams teed off at 11 a.m. on the par 72 course.  Mont Alto was represented with a six man squad, five freshmen and one sophomore.  Returning player, Dan Zeiders (Sewell, New Jersey) was the medalist of the match with a par 75, while freshman Scott Levy (Chambersburg, Pennsylvania) followed closely behind with a 78 par. "We are a very young team, five out of our six teammates have never played at White Deer and it is a difficult course.  We fell short by three strokes to Penn College on their home course.  We played well for our first match and are looking forward to next week at Mystic Rock," explained Head Coach Bill Burke.  Mont Alto's next match is Wednesday September 1st on Penn State Fayette's home course, Mystic Rock for a 10 a.m. tee off.
