Mont Alto Golf Finishes 14th at Gettysburg Invitational

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – The Penn State Mont Alto golf team finished 14th at the Gettysburg College Fall Invitational held at the Hanover Country Club on Wednesday. The hosts, Gettysburg College claimed the team title for the event with a score of 308 on the par 71, 6,474-yard course.

As a team, Mont Alto's main contingent carded a 364. Senior Austin Green (Greencastle, Pa. / Chambersburg Area) led the squad with a ten-over par round to tie for 23rd. Cameron Lee (Warrenton, Va. / Fauquier) carded a 93 and sophomore Robert Sirk (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro Area) finished with a 94, which was good for 66th. Noah Witmer (Greencastle, Pa. / Greencastle Antrim) was the other scorer for Mont Alto as he carded a 96.

Freshman Matthew Lynerd (Greencastle, Pa. / Greencastle Antrim) rounded out the lineup with a 102.

Penn State Mont Alto closes out the fall campaign at the USCAA/PSUAC next Monday and Tuesday. The championships will be held in University Park on Penn State's Blue Course with each round beginning at 9 a.m.
