Sease cards 79, golf finishes 4th at PSUAC Invitational

The Penn State Mont Alto golf team traveled to University Park on Thursday to compete in the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference Invitational. Thursday's invitational was held at the Par 72 White Course which plays to 6,328 yards. Brennan Sease shot the low round on the day for the Nittany Lions, carding a 79. Darian Mort finished second on the squad, shooting an 80.

"A perfect day for golf," Penn State Mont Alto Golf Head Coach Ed Reely said. "Course was immaculate, our team played pretty steady and each player could have dropped a couple more strokes. I was impressed that our team shot 36 strokes better than our first match and I see the scores getting even lower. There was lot of solid ball striking in this event, when our players missed shots, they recovered well."

Other rounds posted by the Mont Alto golf team were Josh Bump with an 85, Brogan Beall with an 86, Stephen Lucas finished with an 87 and Jared Pine shot a 94 in his first contest of the season. Coach Ed Reely was very pleased with his teams performance as the scores were improved all across the team. The team continued its strong start to the season, finishing 4th place out of 10 schools.

Penn State Mont Alto finished 2nd in its season opening event on August 28 at Youghiogheny Country Club during the event hosted by Penn State Greater Allegheny.
