Mort, Sease pace Mont Alto to a fourth place finish at Fayette Invitational

The Penn State Mont Alto golf team traveled to Penn State Fayette for the Fayette Invitational on Wednesday. The team shot a combined 357 to finish fourth place on the day. Darian Mort continued his strong start to the season by shooting a team-leading round of 84. Brennan Sease was right behind Mort with a round of 86. 

 

Stephen Lucas was third on the team with a round of 92, Jared Pine (94), Josh Bump (95) and Brogan Beall (96) rounded out the scoring for Penn State Mont Alto. Penn State York took the top overall spot in team scoring with a team score of 319. Penn State Hazleton finished in second place with 350 while Penn State Fayette placed third with 355.

 

"The course was somewhat tight with its fairways and the aerified greens posed a challenge for the guys, it was difficult for them to read and find the speed," said Penn State Mont Alto Head Golf Coach Ed Reely.

 

Penn State York also had the top two individual performances on the day with Logan Snyder shooting the low round of the day with a score of 75. Andy Manges placed second overall with his 76. Collin Coy from Penn State Hazleton placed third with his round of 79.
