Men's Soccer shuts out Hazleton, 1-0

Penn State Mont Alto Men's Soccer team claims first win of the season against Penn State Hazleton on Saturday.  Mont Alto has completed their fourth game of the season and stands 1-3 in the PSUAC.  "It feels good to get our first win of the season, especially against a team of the quality of Hazleton. We played with a lot of integrity today and it paid off," Head Coach Ron McKinney commented.

Every position on the field impacted the well deserved win.  Returning player, Brian Moccabee had an outstanding game in the goal tallying 11 saves for the day.  On defense, Cody Vickroy and Mitch Lawyer were solid as full backs and stepping in as stopper, Jonathan Zook did an excellent job defending and controlling the back.

On the attacking side, Jamyl Harris and Fred Owusu-Ayim put pressure on Hazleton all day with impressive foot work skills and speed.  The team had a number of scoring opportunities but was unable to get the ball in the back of the net until Camilo Garcia came in off the bench and scored the winning goal of the game.  After 90 minutes of hard work and stellar defense, Mont Alto defeated Hazleton for their first win of the season on their home field.

Men's Soccer travels to Penn State Brandywine on Wednesday for a 4:00 p.m. game.
