Mont Alto, Pa. – For the first time in program history, the Penn State Mont Alto men's soccer program is collaborating with the Antietam Humane Society (AHS) on Saturday, September 16 to raise support for the prevention of cruelty to animals and the promotion of humane treatment for all animals. The Lions will be taking on PSUAC foe Penn State Greater Allegheny in the opening match of conference play in a highly anticipated matchup this season.

The Antietam Humane Society is a local organization in Waynesboro, Pa. that provides animal adoptions, accepts stray or unwanted dogs, cats, and most pocket pets from their service area. The organization also reunites pets with their owners, investigates animal cruelty and abuse complaints, provides humane education seminars, sells Franklin County dog licenses, offers pet therapy for local retirement communities, and offers rabies vaccination clinics.

The PSU Mont Alto men's soccer team will be wearing specially designed AHS jerseys and each player on the 2017 roster will be donating to AHS. There will also be a table setup during the duration of the match where fans can also donate monies, dog/cat supplies including non-scoopable litter, Purina Kitten Chow, household supplies such as bleach and laundry detergent, and office supplies like stamps, pens and sticky notes.
