Media, Pa. – Without the services of three usual starters, the Penn State Mont Alto men's soccer team was unable to find the back of the net through 90 minutes of action falling to Williamson College of Trades 4-0 in a USCAA non-conference match.

Both teams felt each other out during the opening minutes of the match, but Williamson Trade (2-2) slowly began to pick apart the PSU Mont Alto (0-6, 0-1 PSUAC) defense and strung three goals together over an 18-minute span to close out the first half.  The host Mechanics finally found it's breakthrough at the 21:21 mark after a curling shot that fooled Mont Alto keeper Owen Gilbert (Wells Tannery, Pa. / Forbes Road) from the foot of the Thomas Vieyra. The teams would go on to trade shots on goal, before Chris Smith ripped a shot from 35-yards out that doubled Williamson's lead. Then just 57 seconds later, Williamson's Tim McFarland ripped another shot that found the back of the net that put the home team up 3-0 at the half.

The final goal was scored just over two minutes into the second half when Issiah Cohen tallied an unassisted effort. Mont Alto was out-shot 12-9 in the match and the Mechanics also held an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks. Wyatt Thorne (Spring Run, Pa. / Fannett Metal) had a big second half for the Lions registering three shots on target. Goalkeeper Owen Gilbert (Wells Tannery, Pa. / Forbes Road) was steady between the pipes finishing with a game-high seven saves.

Penn State Mont Alto returns to action on Thursday, September 21 in another home non-conference USCAA matchup. The Lions will host Washington Adventist with a 5 p.m. start.
