Men’s Soccer Raises Over $500 in Pink Out Loss to New Kensington

Mont Alto, Pa. – The Penn State Mont Alto men's soccer team hosted PSU New Kensington in its annual Pink Out game on Saturday with Mont Alto suffering a 7-1 defeat. The team honored breast cancer and all cancer survivors in a halftime presentation with the men's program also holding a silent auction/collected donations where it raised $511 dollars in which will be donated to the Cumberland Valley Breast Care Alliance.  

New Kensington opened the scoring in the seventh minute with a goal from Cy Miliko, The visitors would add another pair of goals in the first half to build a 3-0 lead going into the halftime break. Mont Alto managed five first half shots, but were unable to find the back of the net.

Play on the field was much more agressive and open in the second half with New Kensington netting another pair of goals before Mont Alto finally found its breakthrough in the 75th minute. The Lions made it a 5-1 game when Skyler Miller (Shippensburg, Pa. / Chambersburg Area) scored off a corner kick, which was assisted by Nathan Woleslagle (Duncannon, Pa. / Susquenita). New Kensington added another pair of goals, which dropped Mont Alto to 1-14 overall and 1-6 in the PSUAC.  Mont Alto keeper Owen Gilbert (Wells Tannery, Pa. / Forbes Road) had seven saves in the loss.

The Lions return to action on Monday, October 16 in a home match with Central Penn. The game was originally schedule in September, but was rescheduled due to weather as we will have a 4 p.m. kickoff.
