Mont Alto, Pa. – In arguably it's most complete game of the season the Penn State Mont Alto men's soccer team suffered a 2-1 defeat to Central Penn College on Monday evening. The non-conference USCAA loss drops Mont Alto to 1-14 overall as it was outshot by a 19-15 margin and each team had six corner kick opportunities.

The Lions had the first shot of the match off the right foot of Skyler Miller (Shippensburg, Pa. / Chambersburg Area), but his shot was saved by Central Penn keeper Sekwon White in the 8th minute.

Just over four minutes later, the Knights found the back of the net on the counter attack as Zach Morrill put the visitors up 1-0. Mont Alto had a glorious opportunity to equalize in the 37th minute, but Brendan Shannon's (Biglerville, Pa. / Biglerville) penalty kick sailed high. Central Penn held onto the one goal lead through the halftime break.

In the 85th minute, Kyle Stauffer ended up scoring the eventual game-winner on a through ball from Mark Swope. Down 2-0, the Lions finally found the back of the net at the 86:36 mark when Nathan Woleslagle (Duncannon, Pa. / Susquenita) curled home a shot that was assisted by Abraham Solano (Gettysburg, Pa. / Gettysburg). The Lions tried to equalize in the final few minutes with a pair of corner kicks and a shot attempt from Skyler Miller (Shippensburg, Pa. / Chambersburg Area) that sailed wide right of the goal frame.

Mont Alto returns to action on Wednesday, October 18 in a road PSUAC match with PSU York. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
