YORK, Pa. – The Penn State Mont Alto men's soccer team held a brief 2-1 lead in the first half, but PSU York scored three unanswered goals including two in the second half enroute to a 4-2 win. Mont Alto has now played two of its better games of the season, but fell short in both dropping to 2-14 on the season.

PSU York opened the scoring in the third minute, but Mont Alto evened the score at the 12:45 mark on a strike from Will Gray (Coatesville, Pa. / Coatesville). Mont Alto gained the lead in the 38th minute when Nate Hall (New Bloomfield, Pa. / West Perry) netted his first goal of the season. The visiting Lions held the 2-1 lead for three minutes before conceding a penalty kick that was converted by York's Carlos Robles-Flores.

Mont Alto's defense held tough for the first 33 minutes of the second half, but Sashank Ravichandran put York up at the 78:10 mark and Carlos Robles-Flores added an 89th minute goal.

Penn State Mont Alto outshot the home team by a 10-8 margin and freshman keeper Owen Gilbert (Falls Tannery, Pa. / Forbes Road) had a game-high 10 saves.

The Lions return to action on Sunday, October 22 against PSU Beaver for its final home match of the 2017 season. Game time is slated for 2 p.m.
