Skyler Miller Earns All-PSUAC Honors and Brendan Shannon Given John Fritz Sportsmanship Award

2017 PSUAC MEN'S SOCCER AWARDS

MONT ALTO, Pa. – Junior Skyler Miller (Shippensburg, Pa. / Chambersburg Area) was tabbed on the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) first team and sophomore Brendan Shannon (Biglerville, Pa. / Biglerville) was selected as Mont Alto's representative for the John Fritz Sportsmanship Award.

Skyler Miller (Shippensburg, Pa. / Chambersburg Area) followed up his impressive sophomore campaign that saw him named All-PSUAC second team after he started and competed in all 17 matches for Mont Alto. The Chambersburg Area product tied for the team lead with 12 overall points on four goals and four assists. His four goals tied for second on Mont Alto and his four helpers led the team and was the 18th most in the PSUAC.

Brendan Shannon (Biglerville, Pa. / Biglerville) had a decent season himself with four goals on 28 shots. Shannon began the season as a defender, but was utilized as a forward towards the tail end of the 2017 season.

Named after former PSUAC Commissioner John Fritz, the sportsmanship award is given to one player from each team in the league who best displays the core values of the league and sportsmanship to teammates and opponents throughout the season.

Penn State Mont Alto concluded the 2017 season with an overall record of 2-17 and were 1-10 in the PSUAC. Coach Carey will look to build off this seasons triumphs with an offseason of hard work and program building as they will look for a fresh start next fall.
