MONT ALTO, Pa. – The Penn State Mont Alto men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 overtime loss in a Penn State University Athletic Conference home match on Saturday afternoon against PSU Lehigh Valley.

Mont Alto honored breast cancer and all cancer survivors along with the women's program in its annual "Pink Out" as they honored survivors of cancer during a halftime presentation of the women's match and both programs wore pink uniforms. The team's also held a silent auction all afternoon long where $1,080 was donated to the Cumberland Valley Breast Care Alliance.

Inside the Box Score

  • It was even in the shots column with both teams tallying 12. Trenton Shetler (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro Area) led PSUMA with four including two on target.
  • Mont Alto had more corner kick opportunities with six compared to Lehigh Valley's three and Nittany Lions keeper Austin Moore (Brockway, Pa. / Brockway Area) recorded seven saves.

How it Happened

  • PSU Lehigh Valley scored the game-winner just over a minute into the overtime period. Goalkeeper Austin Moore (Brockway, Pa. / Brockway Area) guessed right and made an outstanding save on a penalty kick, but the ensuing rebound went off a PSUMA defender and into the back of the net to give the visitors the win.
  • Both teams had shots of claiming victory within regulation and especially within the second half. In the 82nd minute, Joao Pedro (Sorocaba, Brazil / Colegio Uirapuru) had a curling free kick attempted saved by a sprawled out Trevor Rockwell. Lehigh Valley's David Reagan also hit the crossbar in the 88th minute.

The Nittany Lions return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 1 in a home match with Penn State New Kensington. The PSUAC matchup is slated for a 2 p.m. start.
