Men’s Soccer Falls to Beaver on the Road

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Penn State Mont Alto men's soccer team traveled to Penn State Beaver on Monday for some PSUAC competition. Mont Alto wasn't able to find the back of the net and lost 3-0 dropping to 7-6-1 overall and 2-4-1 within the conference.

Inside the Box Score

  • Sophomore goalkeeper Austin Moore (Brockway, Pa. / Brockway Area) had a busy afternoon tallying a season-high 17 saves.
  • The homestanding Lions outshout PSUMA 37-6.
  • The conferences leading-scorer Danylo Yakymov collected four points on two assists and an unassisted goal.

How it Happened

  • Penn State Beaver scored all three of its goals within the first half. Yakymov assisted a Mishael Garcia effort in the 8th minute and scored an unassisted effort in the 29th minute. Shortly thereafter Beaver made it 3-0 on a John Kazmierczyk goal.
  • Mont Alto recorded all six shots within the second half but was unable to mount the comeback.

Penn State Mont Alto looks to bounce back this Thursday in a non-conference matchup with Harrisburg Area Community College. Game time is slated for 4:30 p.m.
