Tim Carey

Tim Carey enters his ninth season as Penn State Mont Alto's men's soccer head coach for the 2023-24 academic year.

The Nittany Lions concluded the 2021 season with a loss in the PSUAC Tournament, falling 5-1 in the quarterfinals to Penn State New Kensington. The squad ended with a 8-11 record. At the conclusion of the season, Cole White earned 2nd team All-Conference accolades while Connor Geis and Aiyman Alsibae were both named conference Honorable Mentions.

Carey was named PSUAC Men's Soccer Coach of the Year following his team's successful 2021 season.

Prior to his appointment at the Mont Alto Campus, Carey had over two decades of coaching experience at the high school level and was named Public Opinion Coach of the Year in 2008.

As a player, Tim Carey attended Cumberland Valley Christian School where during his senior year he helped his team to a 2nd place finish in a National Tournament and was also named to the National All-Star team. Carey was the first player in school history to earn a soccer scholarship, which came from Liberty University. However, he decided to turn down the scholarship and instead served his country joining the United States Army.

Carey resides in Marion, Pa. with his wife Ana. They have four children and 10 grandchildren.
