The Penn State Mont Alto Softball team continues to be undefeated.  Mont Alto earned two more wins over the 2010 PSUAC Champions, Penn State Hazleton on Wednesday's doubleheader.   Winning the first game 7-3, Mont Alto came out even stronger the next, holding Hazleton to no runs but scoring eight.

In the first game, Mont Alto started off scoring two runs in the first, four in the second, and one in the fifth.  Hazleton fell short, only coming home once in the second inning and twice in the sixth.   On offense, Freshman Alicia Morgan (Mount Union, PA/Mount Union) led the team with a double and homerun, which was the first, recorded this season for Mont Alto.  Defensively, Sophomore Kristyan Gates (Hanover, PA/Hanover) was on the mound all seven innings earning the win for the Lady Lions.  Gates allowed only three runs, five hits, struck out eleven and walked three.

The second game went even smoother for Mont Alto, scoring one run in the first and seven in the second inning, with Hazleton scoring none, ending the game in five innings.  Gates pitched another winning game, her seventh this year, allowing no runs, only six hits, four strike outs and no walks.  She also hit a double for the Lions, while Sophomore Laura Dell (Shippensburg, PA/Shippensburg) USCAA Co-Player of the Week, cracked two hits, sending her to second twice.  The Lions overall record is 7-0 and 4-0 in the PSUAC.
