Mont Alto Softball in full swing

Mont Alto Softball in full swing

The outfield grass is being cut, the lines are being chalked, and the sun is shining in Mont Alto.  It must be softball season.  The Penn State Mont Alto Women are ready for the new season of softball, and cannot wait to get it going.  After a strong off-season of intense work-outs, the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) defending champions are excited to try it again.

Head Coach Bobby Davis is entering his third year here at Penn State Mont Alto, and is looking to do nothing but improve on last year's PSUAC Championship season.  With six returning starters the team is also adding some top prospects from the freshman ranks that look to help enhance the team's record from last year of 20-6.

The team kicks off the new season on March 21st at Washington Adventist before heading to a weekend tournament on March 23rd and 24th at Southern Virginia University.  March 26th will be the ladies home opener against Hagerstown Community College at the Mont Alto Campus.

Coach Davis said, "I am very pleased with our progress to date," and he is very optimistic about where the team is headed.  "The current players have the talent to exceed last year's record."

There is nothing but enthusiasm from the softball team this year.  The ladies have all been very optimistic about what they are going to accomplish, and how they are going to do their very best to keep the PSUAC Championship trophy on the Mont Alto campus.
