Mont Alto wins two more at home

Mont Alto wins two more at home

The Mont Alto women's softball team played host to Penn College on Thursday for their first conference double header of the season.  Jessica Miller started the game for Mont Alto and got out to a hot start.

The bats for Mont Alto were also on fire as they scored 2 runs in the first, 3 in the second, and 3 more in the third to take a commanding lead.  Penn College would try their hardest to make a comeback with a run in the fourth, but it would not be enough to overcome the deficit.  Mont Alto had 10 hits and Miller helped from the mound with 5 strike outs and gave up only 3 hits for the game.

Penn College's Dana Ritter had her team's only RBI of the game.

The second game would be offensive on both sides as both teams would go on scoring sprees.  Mont Alto's Helena DeShong would total 3 RBIs on two hits.  Her team would total 17 hits, including a triple from Mackenzie Trafka

The final for the second game was 10-9 in favor of Mont Alto as they took both games of the double header.

Mont Alto will be at Hazleton on April 3rd for their next conference meeting.
