This week's Softball Pitcher of the Week honor goes to Sarah Bortner of Penn State Mont Alto. Bortner's dominant week featured 44 strikeouts in four games where Mont Alto went 3-1. In 28 innings pitched, she allowed only 10 total hits and gave up just two earned runs for an era of .50. She also managed to help herself out while at the plate as she went 8 for 16 with 6 RBIs and a homerun.
This week's Softball Player of the Week honor goes to Brooke Porter of Penn State Mont Alto. Porter was very consistent throughout the week as she went 12 for 16 at the plate for a .750 batting average. Of those 12 hits, she totaled one homerun, one triple, three doubles, and seven RBIs. On the defensive side of the ball, she recorded a total of 22 catches, and 19 put outs.
