The Penn State Mont Alto Women's Softball team spent the weekend in State College playing for the PSUAC Championships.
It was a busy weekend full of softball for the ladies. They started on Friday playing Hazleton at 4:00 p.m. and won 2-0. Next they faced Penn College for a 9:00 p.m. game and lost a close one, 2-1. On Saturday they started off with a game at 2:00 p.m. game facing Hazleton again. They had to win this game to continue to the championship and that's just what they did. Mont Alto ladies defeated Hazleton 3-0. Their fourth game of the tournament was at 4:00 p.m. against Penn College for the second time. After a tough game, Mont Alto fell 1-0.
Mont Alto ladies brought home second place in the PSUAC. But their season is not over yet. They received a bid to the USCAA National Championships in Akron, Ohio. The tournament starts on May 12, 2014.
