MONT ALTO, Pa. – On Tuesday, March 20 the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) and Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) announced that Mont Alto freshman Brooklyn Wagner (Newville, Pa. / Big Spring) was named softball hitter of the week.
In Mont Alto's season opening doubleheader against Trinity Washington University, Wagner went 7-for-7 at the plate. In the first game of the doubleheader, she helped the Nittany Lions to a 24-0 win and was a home run away from a cycle. She finished the series with four doubles and a triple, 10 RBIs, one walk, and no strikeouts.
The Penn State Mont Alto softball team is slated to play in its home opener on Saturday, March 21 in a conference doubleheader against Penn State Beaver. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
