UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Announced on Tuesday afternoon, Mont Alto sophomore Mackenzie Brymesser (Newville, Pa. / Big Spring) was named Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week.

The Newville Pa., native earned her second win of the season in a 9-1 win over PSU New Kensington on Friday. Brymesser held New Kensington to just three hits with the visitors only mustering one run on a two-out RBI double in the fourth inning. She finished with six strikeouts and only two walks within the pitching circle.

Brymesser has totaled 13 strikeouts on the season and her 0.88 ERA is tops in the PSUAC and is third best in the USCAA. 

Penn State Mont Alto (4-0, 2-0 PSUAC) is slated to return to action on Friday, April 6 when it hosts PSU Greater Allegheny for a doubleheader. Game times are set for 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
