Brooklyn Wagner Named PSUAC Hitter of the Week

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Sophomore infielder Brooklyn Wagner (Newville, Pa. / Big Spring) had a big week at the plate for the Penn State Mont Alto softball team and was named hitter of the week by the Penn State University Athletic Conference on Tuesday.

Wagner hit .607 over eight games last week, helping Mont Alto get back into the playoff picture with a four-game sweep over PSU Greater Allegheny. She racked up 17 hits, including seven doubles and a triple. She scored 12 runs and drove in eight RBIs.

Wagner, who was named a USCAA All-American after her freshman campaign is hitting a team-best .531. That batting average ranks first within the conference and she has hit four more doubles than the next best hitter within the PSUAC.

The Penn State Mont Alto softball team returns to action on Wednesday, April 10 with a home non-conference doubleheader with PSU Hazleton. Game times are slated for 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
