UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – On Thursday, May 2 the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) announced its 2019 Softball End of the Year Awards. For the second consecutive year, Mont Alto had three members of the softball team land on the PSUAC All-Conference teams. Sophomore infielder Brooklyn Wagner (Newville, Pa. / Big Spring) and freshman outfielder Delaney Wagner (Lewisburg, Pa. / Lewisburg Area) garnered First Team accolades, while senior Krista Feaser (Shippensburg, Pa. / Faith Tabernacle) earned Honorable Mention honors. A list with all of the 2019 PSUAC All-Conference Award winners can be found here.

Brooklyn Wagner (Newville, Pa. / Big Spring) made it two-straight years in which she earned First Team recognition after leading Mont Alto in several of the major statistical categories. The sophomore is one of the toughest outs within the nation as she leads the PSUAC with her .541 batting average, which also ranks sixth in the USCAA. She also leads the conference in extra base hits (24) as well as doubles (19) and she connected on a career-high three homers this season. She appeared in 98 at-bats for the Nittany Lions and drove in 34 RBIs, while scoring 37 runs and managing a collegiate-best 12 stolen bases.

Delaney Wagner (Lewisburg, Pa. / Lewisburg Area), a First Team honoree, has been a reliable offensive weapon for Mont Alto while displaying a nifty glove within the outfield. She finished her debut campaign with 35 hits, 19 RBIs, connected on five doubles, and one triple while limiting herself to just six strikeouts all year. The freshman ranked within the top-20 within the conference with her .389 batting average, which was second best for PSUMA.

Meanwhile, Krista Feaser (Shippensburg, Pa. / Faith Tabernacle) earned PSUAC Honorable Mention honors for the second time in her collegiate career. The senior had arguably her finest season hitting .340, had 17 RBIs and scored 31 runs, which were both career-highs. Feaser split time in both centerfield and at shortstop, while having a .885 fielding percentage. She posted nine multi-hit games including a four-hit performance in the narrow 15-14 loss to Fredrick Community College on March 19.

Meagan Smith (Littlestown, Pa. / Littlestown Area) was selected as Mont Alto's representative for the John Fritz Sportsmanship Award. Smith a two-sport athlete for the Nittany Lions as a member of the women's basketball team saw action in all 31 games for the softball team. Overall, she collected 14 hits while driving in 12 runners.

Named after former PSUAC Commissioner John Fritz, the sportsmanship award is given to one player from each team in the league who best displays the core values of the league and sportsmanship to teammates and opponents throughout the season.
