DuBois, Pa. – The Penn State Mont Alto softball team ran out of steam on Tuesday as they fell 10-2 to PSU DuBois in the loser's bracket of the USCAA Small College World Series. The loss concludes the Mont Alto season as the ladies accomplished many great things along the way to a 21-11 overall record.

DuBois plated the opening run in the top of the first frame and jumped on PSUMA starter Katie McCauslin (Biglerville, Pa. / Biglerville) an inning later for four more runs including a three-run homer from Cierra O'Shell. DuBois made it 6-0 when Brittany Williams grounded into a fielder's choice.

Mont Alto made it 6-1 when Destiny Hall (McConnellsburg, Pa. / McConnellsburg) connected on an RBI single that plated home Chelsea Cover (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro Area) in the bottom of the third. However, DuBois scored four runs in the top of the fifth inning for the commanding 10-1 lead. The final run of the season was scored by Michia Herman (Orbisonia, Pa. / Southern Huntingdon) who utilized her speed on the basepaths to score on a Sas pop out.

PSUMA totaled six hits in the loss with Hall finishing 2-for-3 as the freshman infielder concluded her season hitting .308.
