Softball loses extra inning thrillers

Game 1: Penn State DuBois 9, Penn State Mont Alto 8 (F/8 inn)

Game Story

Penn State DuBois and Penn State Mont Alto played a pair of extra inning affairs on Sunday afternoon. Penn State DuBois came away with the doubleheader sweep. In game one, Abby Pentz led the way for Penn State DuBois with a 2 for 3 effort, driving in four runs. Lizzy Scott went the distance in the circle, striking out seven hitters in eight innings. Destiny Hall paced the Penn State Mont Alto offense in the opening game, going 3 for 5 with two RBI's. She hit one of the two Penn State Mont Alto home runs (Kirsten Dell) in game one. Dell went 2 for 3, scoring twice and driving in three runs.

Game 2: Penn State DuBois 16, Penn State Mont Alto 11 (F/ 8 inn)

Game Story

For the second straight game, the two PSUAC opponents went to extra innings. Penn State DuBois got the best of Penn State Mont Alto in game two, scoring 11 runs in the top half of the 8th inning for a 16-11 win. Abby Pentz and Paige Pleta led the DuBois attack with three RBI's each. Shyanne Lundy went 2 for 3 with three runs scored along with two walks. Skye Herring and Destiny Hall each registered three hits for Penn State Mont Alto. Brooklyn Miller went 2 for 5 with a double and Jaylin Belton went 2 for 4 with a double. Penn State DuBois capitalized on four Penn State Mont Alto miscues in the top of the 8th inning.
