Mont Alto Team Tennis traveled to compete in their first match of the season against Hazleton. It was close, but Hazleton pulled off the win 5-4. Marcus Folks tallied a point for Mont Alto winning the #2 men's singles match. For the women, Annette Deutsch competed in #1 singles match and won 6-0, 6-0. The #2 singles was the same for Mont Alto; Kathiegong Williams swept the match 6-0, 6-0. Deutsch and Williams also dominated the doubles match 6-0, 6-0 and recored a total of 3 points for Mont Alto.
Coach Alan Smith comments, "It was our first match and our women played exceptionally well. We'll need to win a few close matches as the season progresses. Overall, we played OK but have plenty of room for improvement."
Tennis will travel to Lehigh Valley September 19th for a 6:15p.m. match.
