Penn State Mont Alto Women's Basketball team did not give up last night and it paid off. Mont Alto won a thriller against Penn State York in a conference match up in the MAC building. They took the game into overtime and won by five, 72-67.

After being down by three points at half time, Mont Alto women came out strong in the second half. It was not until the last 18 seconds of the half that they tied the game after trailing York for the last 20 minutes. Helena DeShong hit a three point shot to send the game into extra minutes.

Mont Alto was led by Ayanna Hall and Alexis Small who had 19 points and 18 points, respectively. Small also had a team high 16 rebounds and Aaliyah Daniels added 10 boards.

Mont Alto kept the momentum going into overtime. They maintained the lead the entire 5 minutes and never looked back. It was a very exciting game for the Lady Lions.

The Mont Alto Women's Basketball team returns to action on Saturday, January 12th at 1:00 p.m. against Penn State Fayette at home.
