Mont Alto Women downed by Fayette

Penn State Mont Alto Women's Basketball team fell to PSUAC opponent Penn State Fayette, 90-37.

Mont Alto started the game slow and they were not able to catch up to Fayette.  Trailing 13- 46 at half time, Mont Alto knew they were going to have to step it up in the second half.

"Disappointing first half of basketball for us today, we played very out of character.  I stressed in the locker room at half time we need to work better as a team, we tried to do too much individually," commented Head Coach Donna Davis.

Mont Alto was led by Aaliyah Daniels who had 13 points and Alexis Small who added 10 rebounds.

"One of our goals was to reduce our turnovers in the second half, and we did.  I was pleased with our effort on the boards, we were basically even with Fayette," said Coach Davis.

Mont Alto was able to score more in the second half but they still are looking to improve on their offense.

"Overall, disappointed with our ball possessions and foul shooting. It was our foul shooting that sealed the win for us on Wednesday against York and today we shot 9-23, 39% from the line. We need to continue to put more effort into our shooting, overall from the line and the field as well as improve on finishing when we attack the basket," added Coach Davis.

Mont Alto returns to action Wednesday, January 16th away against Penn State Brandywine at
6:00 p.m.
